CARE TIPS FOR YOUR SWISS ARMY KNIFE The stainless steel construction undergoes a rigorous tempering, annealing, and polishing process to achieve the necessary hardness and corrosion resistance.
SHARPENING To re-sharpen your knife, use a whetstone at an angle of 15°– 20°, resulting in a cutting angle of 30°– 40°. When sharpening on a grinding wheel, always cool with plenty of water to avoid excessive temperatures and potential damage.
CLEANING If the blades become stuck, open and close them in warm water several times to restore smooth movement. Once dry, apply a drop of Swiss Army Knife Oil between each tool and its spring. Avoid putting Swiss Army Knives in the dishwasher.
HISTORY & HERITAGE In 1884, Swiss Cutler Karl Elsener founded a cutlery shop in Ibach, Switzerland, producing the finest steel cutlery. He supplied the Swiss Army with their standard-issue Soldier's Knife and Officer's Knife. After his mother's passing and the advent of stainless steel, Elsener renamed the company Victorinox, a combination of "Victoria" (his mother's name) and "inox" (stainless steel).
Today, Victorinox continues to be owned and operated by the Elsener family, with the company and family still residing in the small village of Ibach, Switzerland. The iconic Swiss Army Knife, first patented in 1897, has become a global symbol of versatility and functionality.
The Victorinox Explorer, with its 15 tools and lifetime warranty, is a testament to the brand's enduring legacy of quality and innovation. Whether you're a camper, hiker, hunter, or outdoor enthusiast, this pocket-sized toolbox is your reliable companion, ready to tackle any adventure.
